Central government is concluding the report it will issue to the European Commission, demanded by US head of Environment, Stavros Dimas, on Gran Scala project.
According to the government, documents will be issued to Brussels in the right deadline, but it will not happen this week, as expected by Izquierda Unida, because official sources said that the deadline to send the data to the European entity has not concluded yet.
European environmental officer, Stavros Dimas, has addressed Spanish authorities demanding information on Gran Scala project, which has also been confirmed the top EU position to Euro representative from IU party, Willy Meyer, in a parliamentary answer. In his answer, Stavros assured that he expected the demanded documents to arrive before that day, because April 5th would be the deadline.
However, official sources from the US state secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that information of the gaming and leisure mega project will be sent to Brussels, but the release will not happen this week. Sources interviewed assured that documentation will be sent to the Environment Commission
IU political party is the only one which has been opposed to leisure and gambling center Los Monearos in Aragón, warning it will have negative economic and environmental consequences. Izquierda Unida has remarked that the zone in which it intends to promote this multi millionaire initiative has a high environmental value, and it is protected by Red Natura 2000. They also oppose due to the type of activity that mega complex promoters wish to develop.
